Ökonom (Dr. rer. oec., PD). Seit November 2003 stellv. Leiter der Forschungsgruppe ?Stoffströme und Ressourcenmanagement?; zugleich Inhaber des Stiftungslehrstuhls ?Toyota Chair for Industry and Sustainability? am Europakolleg Brügge, Belgien. Frühere Positionen bei der Max Planck Projektgruppe ?Recht der Gemeinschaftsgüter? in Bonn, am Wuppertal Institut, am Institut für Europäische Umweltpolitik, Bonn und London sowie im Deutschen Bundestag. Leitung von Forschungsprojekten z.B. ?Governance? für die japanische Regierung, ?Zukunftsfähiges Deutschland? für BUND und Misereor. Forschungsaufenthalte in den USA, Großbritannien, Südkorea, Japan. Promotion an der Universität Wuppertal, Habilitation an der Universität Kassel. Forschungsschwerpunkte: Ressourcenproduktivität, Governance, vergleichende Institutionenanalyse, Europäische Union, Wasserstoffwirtschaft .
