The globalization of economic relations and economic integration (EU, ASEAN, MERCOSUR etc.) have become key elements of modern internationalization dynamics. Particularly the EU has argued that regional integration generates not only economic benefits but also will facilitate pursuing of EU international interest in the process of globalization and in international institutions. Thus the focus is on globalization of the economy and the evolutionary dynamics of regional integration schemes as well as the role of effectively global economic organizations such as the IMF, the World Bank, BIS and G8 plus OECD. Besides theoretical and empirical issues modern institutional aspects are highlighted. Policy perspectives of the US, the EU and Asian countries are also discussed.
